#MIDAS 91 South Main St #Torrington #CT ⛔⚠ WARNING ⚠⛔ REVIEW 06790 Avoid #Midas #Torrington #Conn If you are thinking of bringing your vehicle into Midas 91 South Main st., Torrington Connecticut 06790, I would strongly advise you read my experience below with Midas Torrington Conn, and perhaps save yourself a lot of grief and perhaps even vehicle damage. ### Monday July 25, 2022 - Bringing My Car Into #Midas, South Main st #Torrington #CT ### On Mon July 25th 2022 I bought my blue Mustang into Midas, Torrington to have a new ring and pinion installed. The person who appeared to be in charge, a mechanic named Larry, told me it would be ready the following day on Tuesday. On Tues July 26th I go in and they hadn't even started on the job my Mustang was still parked in the parking lot. No one from Midas ever called me and told me anything I found this out when I went in expecting to pick up the car with the new ring and pinion installed. They told me to come in on Thursday to pick the car up. I come in Thurs the car still not ready. Midas kept putting me off til the following week the beginning of August. I went in and lost my temper and gave them a piece of my mind. The undereducated crack addict girl Erica at the front desk, reacted like an animal with no professionalism whatsoever as she proceeded to yell and swear back at me. This prompted the mechanic Larry, to come outside and assure me that the reason for the delays is because a tool they needed to do the job a pinion depth gauge. Was broken and he was waiting for the tool to arrive from Amazon. By Friday Aug 5th 2022 I know that Larry the mechanic is lying to me. I'm an Amazon Prime member I know how Amazon works and there's no way Amazon is going to keep them waiting and hanging for several days like that. ### I Had To Purchase the Tools for the Mike, the 'Mechanic' at Midas, 91 South Main st 06790 ### I had to go on Amazon and purchase the tool for the mechanic. I bring the tool in on Monday Aug 8th. There is a new manager there named Dave who promises he's going to take care of me now. He assures me the job will be ready the next day on Tuesday August 9th. ### Mike the 'Mechanic' Had to Download Instructions off the Internet on How to Work on My Car ?? ### On Thursday Aug 11th 2022 I go into Midas to pick up my car. Just prior to that I was text messaging with the mechanic who is working on the car, mike, who tried telling me how much trouble he had to go through working on my car because the instructions that he tried downloading from the Ford website for how to install a ring and pinion we're very complicated and vague. HELLO - I thought I was having an auto mechanic work on my car!!??!@ The fact that he mentions to me he has to download instructions on how to do this job tells me he's under qualified for it and Midas never should have taken this job in the first place as they were ill-equipped and they didn't have the properly educated mechanics; they didn't have the proper equipment. 2 1/2 weeks later, Thurs Aug 11th 2022 at 5:30 p.m. just before Midas closes the job is done. With all the crap Midas of Torrington put me through, you would think they would have given me a discount on the job and an apology. They charged me $859 for a job that is a 5-hour job on the books meaning they overcharged me several hundred dollars. I leave the parking lot with the car and almost immediately here and abnormal sounding whining or grinding in the rear end. I turn around grab another mechanic who is still there and hadn't gone home yet and took him for a test drive and let him listen to the noise. he assured me the noise is normal he said that the ring and pinion and carrier are brand new it has to be broken in so this noise is perfectly normal. I drove the car for about 150 miles with no let-up in the whining and grinding noise in the rear end. At this point I made the decision that I'm going to call my credit card company and have them initiate a chargeback and stop payment. ### Larry a Manager of Midas Torrington CT, Threatens Me ### UPDATE Mon., Aug 22, 2022 I went into Midas Torrington CT to speak with manager/mechanic Larry to see if I would be able to get a refund on the bad differential job, peacefully. Based upon my above experience with Midas, I assumed Midas willingly giving me a refund would be highly unlikely so I let Larry know about this website and the fact that I have software that can republish this website hundreds of time all across the internet giving Midas lots of bad press. This was Larry's EXACT response - "since you want to come at me like that Evan, then you and I are going to have a problem outside of Midas, but come back tomorrow and I will give you a refund but don't ever show your face in here ever again.". So now the manager of Midas, Larry, threatened me LOL. What a surprise. I wonder if Larry knows threatening someone over the age of 55 is a felony. Maybe Larry should ask Curly and Moe about that.
